A weekend favorite this place serves some of the most delicious juiciest ox tail. This on a bed of cabbage that will leave you licking your lips. Don't forget about the goat curry yum! Want something fast and simple? Try the cheesy bread and plantains! Always made fresh and full of flavor

Stopped into Independence Mall with my wife today. For lunch, we decided to try something new. We saw Miss Stella open African Dream Cuisine. The food here is AMAZING! Miss Stella gave us suggestions on what we wanted to do with the sauces. Excellent service, beautifully prepared and SO flavorful! If you're in Independence, bypass the burger and eat at African Dream Cuisine! 10/10
African Dream was a dream! We stopped by on a Friday evening and I ordered the special, which was chicken and rice with peanut butter sauce. SO flavorfulthe chicken was smoky and delicious, the sauce was very complex, and the portion was plentiful. Ordered a side of the samosas and they were also fantastic. Sadly I did not get to try the plantains, as they were out that day, but I will definitely try them on my next visit!
I really wish I would have tried this place a lot sooner than I did. The owner was very nice and the food was delicious. I ended up going with the chicken stew, fried rice, cabbage, and also asked for some plantains and he loaded up the box with everything. Plantains we’re delicious and sweet. Cabbage had great texture and flavor. And the chicken and fried rice together were great. I’m not sure what the red sauce is called that was over the chicken but it was delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try something new.
African Dream is unbelievably delicious. The chicken is tender and flavorful.the cabbage is crunchy (but still done) and seasoned well. The plantains pair very well with the red pepper dream sauce. The owner is also super friendly and clearly proud of his restaurant. Definitely worth a stop to the Lenexa public market at lunch.
SOOO good!!! Service is great. I have tried both chicken, and brisket, and also today tried the goat and oxtail. Both times with the fufu and egusi, a side of their “dream” sauce. It is delicious! Definitely will continue going back
From the welcoming smile to the amazing and delicious food. We 10/10 recommend their delicious selection of real African cuisines. Our Family one 4 tore up some Fufu including our 1 and 7 year old girls. Thank you for the amazing service and delicious new flavors I’ve never even had. We will be back!!
